What body part are you?

For just as we have many members in one body and all the members do not have the same function, so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another. Since we have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, each of us is to exercise them accordingly: if prophecy, according to the proportion of his faith ; if service, in his serving ; or he who teaches, in his teaching ; or he who exhorts, in his exhortation ; he who gives, with liberality ; he who leads, with diligence ; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. -Romans 12:4-8

What part of Christ's body are you? What function do you have in the Church? What gifts have you been given? How are you using those gifts?

Why do we think the only people with gifts or a role are the pastors, musicians, or authors? Each one of us has a role to play. There is need for every part of a human body and likewise, there is a need for every one of us in the body of Christ. Let's start acting like it.

Pray that as Christ lives through us, we can live and move with Him. Just like a head and brain of a physical body controls its different parts and allows for life of the whole body, let us allow Christ as the head of the Church control and live through us.
