Make me the man that draws others to You.

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. Do not cause anyone to stumble, whether Jews, Greeks or the church of God - even as I try to please everyone in every way. For I am not seeking my own good but the good of many, so that they may be saved. - 1st Corinthians 10:31-33

We are not here on this earth for ourselves. As Christians we can hear this and even say it and maybe even mean it, but how often do we live it. We have died to ourselves when we decided to follow Jesus. The only way we can find new life in Him is to find death to our old life. This is one of the largest areas that I struggle with and I think the biggest problems for American Christians.

I do not want to live my life for my own glory anymore. I have lived too long for myself, always getting the latest toys and gadgets and I have been completely selfish. I have been starting down the road of trying to simplify my life. I am in the process of selling things I have always wanted so I can be more effective in the Kingdom of God. I don't need the expensive watch that I always wanted or a professional camera when there are less expensive ones that will do the same thing. I am not saying this to promote myself (I am still am selfish person and this is a baby step). But the fact is my life is not about me and I know I need to start living that way.

I want my life to draw others to God. I want to live in such a way that can only be explained by the Holy Spirit with Jesus living in and through me.

What can you do for the glory of God? In what ways can you seek the good of many by sacrificing your own good? How can you live to draw others to God so many can be saved?
